The Senators announced that Zetterlund has signed a three-year contract extension worth $12.825 million. This carries a cap hit of $4.275 million per season. Fabian Zetterlund has played for three teams over 398 career games. He has proven to be an offensive contributor, albeit somewhat inconsistent. He has played strong stretches throughout of his career of sustained play of above two-points-per-60 minutes, over all situations. Depending on your total ice time and specialty team distribution, those kind of numbers can get you approaching 60-point campaigns. If you combine his last two seasons, he potted 43 goals. So, the potential is there for the native of Sweden.

However, during his time with the Ottawa Senators he didn’t quite find his stride with five points through 20 regular season games. It was not a large sample size with the Senators, but there were definitely glimpses of positive vibes.
