NHL Predictions

Toronto Maple Leafs vs Carolina Hurricanes

Head-to-Head: Maple Leafs 1-1 Hurricanes

Time: 5 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

TV: SNO; Fan Duel Sports South; ESPN+

We open up NHL predictions with the Toronto Maple Leafs visiting the Carolina Hurricanes. Toronto is expected to start Joseph Woll in goal after Anthony Stolarz got the shutout the night before. The Maple Leafs are trying to wrap up the Atlantic Division title and a win here would clinch that. William Nylander has registered 44 goals and 39 assists for Toronto.

We’ll likely see Frederik Andersen get the start against one of this former teams. The Hurricanes are locked into the second spot in the Metropolitan Division and may be resting players to get ready for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Jackson Blake has totaled six goals and four assists over the last 10 games.

Both teams are coming off games the night before, but Toronto has a little more to play for.

Prediction: Maple Leafs win 3-2.

Washington Capitals vs Columbus Blue Jackets

Head-to-Head: Capitals 1-2 Blue Jackets

Time: 6 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

TV: SN East; Monumental Sports Network; Fan Duel Sports Ohio; ESPN+

We open up NHL predictions with the second matchup in two days between the Washington Capitals and Columbus Blue Jackets. Charlie Lindgren is the expected starter, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Washington has been resting players after having already clinching the top spot in the East. Check forward lines, which could be critical with fantasy playoffs.

Jet Greaves is listed as the expected starter, but he did play on Saturday against Washington. The Blue Jackets are fighting for their playoff lives and need a win. Columbus has won three straight entering this one and are led by Boone Jenner‘s six goals in the last 10 games.

The lineup uncertainty could cause issues, so go with Columbus.

Prediction: Blue Jackets win 4-2.

Edmonton Oilers vs Winnipeg Jets

Head-to-Head: Oilers 0-2 Jets

Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

TV: SN West; TSN3; ESPN+

Our last game of NHL predictions has the Oilers taking on the Jets. Edmonton is confirmed to give Stuart Skinner the start in this game. The Oilers are 6-4 in the last 10 games, including two straight victories. However, Edmonton is dealing with injuries and just lost Mattias Ekholm. Connor McDavid leads the club in assists with 71.

Eric Comrie will likely get the start in the blue paint for Winnipeg, which sewed up first in the Western Conference. The Jets can clinch the President’s Trophy with a victory in this game. Kyle Connor leads the team in goals (41), assists (55) and points (96) for Winnipeg. However, keep an eye on the lineup to make sure of any players resting.

This could be a tough game to gauge, but go with the Jets to beat the depleted Oilers.

Prediction: Jets win 4-2.

Prop Bets of the Night

We finish out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. Let’s stick with our last game for our props. Go with McDavid to get the over on 1.5 assists for the Oilers in this one. For Winnipeg, take Mark Scheifele to get a power-play point in this game.
