Welcome back to our second to last entry in this Philadelphia Flyers jersey number series. This section features a hall-of-famer, as well as some names you may not have heard in a while. Just to note, numbers, 83, 85, and 90 are not included, since no Flyers have worn those numbers.
Philadelphia Jersey Number: 81-90
81. Carsen Twarynski
Twarynski spent two seasons with Philly and cracks this list as the only player to wear number 81. He appeared in just 22 games during his time in the City of Brotherly Love, tallying one single goal as his only point.
82. Ivan Fedotov
Fedotov is just getting his Flyers career started. He’s appeared in just three games with one loss and one overtime loss on his record. He grabs this spot on the list due to his potential. As the tallest goalie in NHL history, getting pucks past him will be a huge challenge moving forward.
84. Linus Högberg
Högberg is another player who is the only person who can wear a number. He played in just five games during his one stint with the Flyers during the 2021-22 season. He tallied two points, two assists on goals by Travis Konecny, and Oskar Lindblom.
86. Joel Farabee
Farabee initially started his Flyers career wearing number 49 but switched to 86 after his first season. Farabee is the only Flyer to ever wear 86, and has made a name for himself while doing so. Farabee hit the 50-point mark for the first time in his career last season. This great season for him individually raised his point total up to 182 points for his career as a Flyer in 334 games.
87. Donald Brashear
This Philadelphia Jersey number is a player that was a fan favourite. The only player to wear number 87 for the team in its history, Brashear doesn’t quite have the accolades that the guy who has worn the number on the other side of the state. However, Brashear’s game was all about toughness, as he was a big fighter in his time. Brashear also provided some offence, over his four seasons with the club he collected 66 points (22 Goals, 44 Assists).
88. Eric Lindros
The next Philadelphia jersey number is a legend. One of the best to ever wear a Flyers jersey, there was no question about this spot on the list. Lindros was awarded the Hart Trophy after the 1994-95, as the league’s most valuable player. Lindros also collected the Art Ross Trophy, and the Lester B. Pearson Trophy, and was a two-time all-star while with the Flyers. Not to mention, Lindros is a member of the Hockey Hall Of Fame.
Lindros is one of the few players to have their number hanging in the rafters at the Wells Fargo Center. His play was sensational with Philly, as he was a power forward who averaged more than a point per game. Over eight seasons in The City of Brotherly Love, Lindros appeared in 486 games and tallied 659 points (290 Goals, 369 Assists). He was also a member of one of the most feared and dominant lines in NHL history, The Legion of Doom.
Lindros was the center for John LeClair and Mikael Renberg. The first year as a line was shortened 1994-95 season, and the trio all individually finished top 10 in scoring. Leclair was ninth, Renberg was eighth, and Lindros led the NHL in scoring that season. This line was the driving force behind the Flyer’s regular and postseason success in the ’90s, even helping the club make an appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals at the conclusion of the 1996-97 season.
89. Cam Atkinson
Atkinson is most known for his time in Columbus, however, he had a decent couple of seasons in Philadelphia earning him this spot on the list. Atkinson only played 143 games over two seasons for the Flyers amassing 78 points (36 Goals, 42 Assists). Atkinson could’ve had even better numbers as a Flyer but missed the entire 2022-23 season due to injury.
