John Tortorella and David Quinn have been named assistant coaches for the United States National Team that will compete in the 2025 4 Nation’s Face-Off. This is an exciting opportunity to be apart of a best-on-best tournament, even if it only features four of the world’s best countries in hockey.

Tortorella and Quinn Join Team USA
Tortorella and Quinn join Mike Sullivan (head coach) and John Hynes (assistant coach). Bill Guerin is the general manager of the team.
Team USA’s Coaching Staff is Full of Experience
Newcomers and Tortorella and Quinn have a combined 60 years of coaching experience. Along with Sullivan and Hynes, the coaching staff has participated in a combined 26 international tournaments.
“We’ve got a highly accomplished coaching staff leading our team and we couldn’t be more excited about the group,” said Guerin. “Their experiences – both unique and shared – will be a big benefit to our country as we look to bring home a championship come February.”
Each coach will add to their coaching experience this season. Sullivan is the head coach of the the Pittsburgh Penguins. Likewise, Quinn will join Sullivan as an assistant coach. Meanwhile, Hynes coaches the Minnesota Wild and Tortorella enters his third year with the Philadelphia Flyers.
4 Nations Face-Off
The 4 Nations Face-Off takes place in February 2025. Boston and Montreal will host the tournament. The United States, Canada, Finland, and Sweden will put together a roster of NHL players only. The event will feature round-robin play. Furthermore, the teams having the best record advancing to the championship game.
