Boston Bruins Goaltender Signs New Deal

NHL Predictions: Washington Capitals vs Boston Bruins; Jeremy Swayman contract

Jeremy Swayman has ended his holdout. News recently emerged that Boston Bruins have signed the goalie on Sunday morning. Swayman got himself an eight-year deal worth worth $66 million. This works out to an average cap hit of $8.25 million per season. The long saga is over as the Jeremy Swayman contract is finally signed.

With Swayman in the lineup for Boston, the team can count on a strong leader who exudes confidence when it matters most. Throughout the previous season, particularly in the playoffs, Swayman proved to be the cornerstone of the team. His ability to rally his teammates and acknowledge their efforts was evident on multiple occasions.

Jeremy Swayman Contract Signed

Swayman’s exceptional performance on the ice this past season is no secret. Throughout the regular season, Swayman posted a record of 43-25-10, maintaining a solid 2.53 GAA while sharing playing time with Linus Ullmark. When the playoffs arrived, Swayman’s game reached new heights. Not only did he perform at an elite level, but he also displayed remarkable endurance and showed no signs of fatigue or physical strain. This is despite starting a career-high 11 consecutive games. Prior to the playoffs, Swayman had never started more than six games in a row.

What Does This Exciting Development Mean for Next Season?

Now that the ink has dried on Swayman’s new deal with the Bruins,  it’s clear that the front office made the right decision. There had been some worry about the news of Swayman’s contract. However, that seems to be settled with this new deal.

Swayman has a chance to etch his name into the history books. He becomes only the second goalie in Bruins history to achieve a .950 SV% or higher in a playoff series. Tim Thomas stands as the sole other netminder to accomplish this feat for the franchise.

This also ends a nasty contract negotiation between the two sides. There had been ups-and-downs during the talks. However, that drama is over and he can focus on hockey.
