The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded forward Peter Holland to the Arizona Coyotes on Friday in exchange for a conditional draft pick in 2018.

Toronto Maple Leafs Trade Peter Holland to the Arizona Coyotes
According to reports by both teams, the Coyotes acquired Holland for a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2018. If Holland is signed or traded by the Coyotes, the Leafs will acquire the pick.

A New Beginning
The trade comes in the wake of Holland’s recent frustrations with the Leafs. Last week, Holland and his agent met with Leafs general manager Lou Lamoriello, ultimately deciding that he would not be travelling with the team on their recent western road trip.
Several trade speculations surrounding Holland soon followed after these events.
Holland has only suited up for eight of the team’s 25 games this season. In these games, he has registered one point. In 203 career NHL games, Holland has 70 points (30 goals, 40 assists).
Holland is coming off a career season, in which he scored 27 points in 65 games last season.
Holland will likely slot in as the Coyotes fourth Centre, behind Martin Hanzal, Christian Dvorak, and Ryan White. The Coyotes currently sit last in the league standings with an 8-13-5 record.
The Maple Leafs play the Boston Bruins Saturday, and the Coyotes play the Nashville Predators Saturday as well. Holland’s playing status for Arizona’s game is unconfirmed.
