PK Subban and Viktor Arvidsson A Big Loss For Predators

P.K. Subban On Injured Reserve

The Nashville Predators are just another team to be hit by a long list of injuries this week. They’ll be without a top defenceman and winger in PK Subban and Viktor Arvidsson. Firstly, P.K. Subban is the biggest name of the Preds elite blueline. Subban got hurt Tuesday against the San Jose Sharks. He has 2 goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 18 games this season. It was announced he will miss at least 3 games, however the official timeline is unknown at this point.

With Subban being out, however, Dan Hamhuis has been activated off of IR and will return. The defence may be an ice time by committee to fill P.K. Subban’s spot.

Viktor Arvidsson Out For Six To Eight Weeks

Next, Viktor Arvidsson was injured Sunday while playing the Dallas Stars. He was placed on IR earlier this week and confirmed out for 6-8 weeks with a broken thumb. The Preds will dearly miss him upfront. Arvidsson is coming off of back to back 61 point seasons. He has 8 goals and 5 assists for 13 points in 13 games this season. As a result, the Preds will be looking for contributions from other wingers. Kevin Fiala and Filip Forsberg will probably be the ones to make up the scoring in wake of Arvidsson on the wings.

Lastly, the Predators currently sit first in the Central with a 13-4-1 record. These injuries would certainly be crucial to almost all teams. However, the Predators have the talent to push through. It seems like this team is ready to embrace the challenge and get through the injuries, though.
