Edmundson has seen a lot of ice time lately. He spent a good amount of his 2017-18 season playing with Blues star Alex Pietrangelo. His average ice time reached a career-high of over 20 minutes a game. He also set career highs with his goals (7), points (17) and penalty minutes (57). Edmundson’s possession numbers were 51.5 percent Corsi-for with a relative Corsi of -1.2.

Edmundson became a fan-favorite in St. Louis after posting six points in 11 games during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. His postseason performance is what ultimately landed him a defensive pairing with Pietrangelo and the third highest average ice time on the team this past season.

There has been a fair amount of struggles for Edmundson throughout his career. The Blues drafted him in the second round in 2011. He was sent to the AHL two years later before his rookie season in 2015-16. Competition in St. Louis has been a big issue for Edmundson, facing players like Petteri Linbohm and Colton Parayko for a roster spot. His future in St. Louis will be riddled with much more competition, with players like Jake Walman and Niko Mikkola coming up through the system. He saw a decent amount of production and promise last season and will likely continue his upward climb with the Blues next season.
