Joseph has been with the Penguins since he made the jump to pro hockey in the 2019-2020 season, spending the majority of his tenure with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Last season was his best, as he notched a 33-point season, with 44 PIMs, and an 8 +/-.
Analyzing the NHL Rumours on Joseph
Although he is young, It is slightly surprising that the Penguins are willing to give up on him. Although, he hasn’t been fantastic for the Penguins, has spent the majority of his career playing an AHL role, and has not spent more than 20 NHL games in a single season.
He will most likely be playing a 6th defenseman role on a rebuilding team. If he builds off of what he did this season, he can either be a top Defenseman in the AHL for a club needing some veteran influence, or a depth role for a contending team. For now, however, there are endless options for him.
