The Ottawa Senators have re-signed goaltender Mike Condon to a three-year deal worth $7.2 million dollars. He will have an AAV or Cap Hit of $2.4 million per season. Condon performed admirably for the Senators after being acquired in an early season trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins. He started his 2016-17 season at training camp with the Montreal Canadiens, but was waived. It has been a rapid rise for the young goalie.
The team announced the move via their official twitter account. Condon was set to be an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.

Mike Condon Re-Signs with the Ottawa Senators
Condon, 27, played in 40 games for the Senators last season. He was heavily relied upon while Craig Anderson left the team to take care of his wife, Nicholle, during her cancer treatments. Condon was up to the task. He posted a 19-14-6 record with a .914 save percentage; a 2.50 goals against average; and five shutouts.
Condon was an undrafted free agent who played his college hockey at Princeton University. When he finished his NCAA career he signed a try-out contract with Minnesota’s AHL affiliate the Houston Aeros. He then signed his first NHL deal prior to the 2014-15 season. It was a two-way contract with the Montreal Canadiens and he spent the season with their AHL affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs.
In 2015-16 he won the Habs backup goalie job. When starter Carey Price was injured, Condon took the reigns and played in 55 games. He went 21-25-6 with a .903 save percentage and 2.71 goals against. Condon was in net for the Habs when they defeated the Boston Bruins at the 2016 NHL Winter Classic. His father, a police officer in Massachusetts was part of the Habs official escort to the game.
