NHL Predictions Featuring Toronto Maple Leafs vs Calgary Flames
Colorado Avalanche vs. Minnesota Wild
Head-to-Head: Avalanche 4 – 2 Wild
The Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild face off in their seventh matchup of the season tonight. With a record of 25-8-4, the Avalanche currently lead the West. They sit just behind the league-leading Florida Panthers in the rankings. On a four-game-win streak due to contributions from all over their roster, it would be hard to imagine that they don’t win this game. But the 23-11-2 Wild have given them a lot of competition so far this season. But, with Marcus Foligno, Zach Parise, and Mats Zuccarello still day-to-day, their firepower will be severely lacking. Colorado will collect the two points.
Prediction: Avalanche 4-2.
Arizona Coyotes vs. Los Angeles Kings
Head-to-Head: Coyotes 1 – 2 Kings
Another West Division matchup, the Arizona Coyotes take on the Los Angeles Kings. Playing just three games so far this season, these two clubs will have some serious action to round out the season. The Coyotes, who are 18-15-5 on the season have made a solid showing. Just last night, defencemen Jakob Chychrun posted the first hat trick of his career. On the other hand, the 14-16-6 Los Angeles Kings have had no real standouts. Losing more than half their games thus far, they just won’t be able to handle the Coyotes who won five of their last six games.
Prediction: Coyotes win 3-1.
Toronto Maple Leafs vs Calgary Flames
Head-to-Head: Maple Leafs 5 – 2 Flames
As for the featured game, this matchup was just played last night. In their seventh game of the season, the Toronto Maple Leafs dominated the Calgary Flames in a 4-2 win. Goals from Morgan Rielly, Alex Galchenyuk, John Tavares, and Auston Matthews led the Maple Leafs to their win. Just the better team, Calgary can’t seem to keep up with them in any aspect of the game. Currently first in the North, the Maple Leafs have a record of 25-10-3 and are just three points shy of first place. They’ve steamrolled their Canadian competition all season and will, most likely, continue to do so. Starting tonight with the Calgary Flames.
As for the aforementioned Alberta club, the Flames are a much better team on paper than they are on the ice. A losing record of 16-20-2 places them at sixth in the North, and 25th in the league. And, they aren’t doing much to change it. Their leading scorers Elias Lindholm, Matthew Tkachuk, and Johnny Gaudreau can’t carry their team. They will lose to Toronto again tonight.
Prediction: Maple Leafs win 2-0.
