The Last Word on Hockey Show
New Jersey Devils and Kyle Palmieri
Toronto Maple Leafs
The show shifts to looking at the Toronto Maple Leafs and what moves they might make. Pagnotta states that they are definitely in the market for a forward. Specifically, a winger that can contribute offensively. Two guys they have kicked tires on have been Rickard Rakell and Mikael Granlund. Pagnotta says they potentially could add depth down the middle as well. A player like Luke Glendening, who is one of the top guys in faceoffs, could fit on their fourth line. Not to mention he only has a $1.8 million cap hit.
Nashville Predators
Another player that Dave Pagnotta said is on the move is Mattias Ekholm from the Nashville Predators. The Predators are definitely looking to deal him at the deadline. Another player that is rumoured to be traded is Filip Forsberg but the Predators are really not aggressively shopping according to Dave Pagnotta.
New York Islanders
Jim and Dave move over to the Islanders and how they will replace Anders Lee. Palmieri is on their list of guys they want to trade for, but it all comes down to what the Devils see in him in the future. Dave says the Islanders could replace Lee with one guy or look at adding two pieces upfront to balance their forward lines out.
Jim and Dave also chat about what is going on with the B package for the NHL TV Deal, quarantine rules, and have a little fun discussing baseball.
