The Last Word on Hockey
Special Opening
Jim opens the show after a request from a listener to discuss the Montreal Canadiens and their play as of late. The boys break down the two against the Ottawa Senators. They all agree the Senators were up to play their rival. While Montreal might have taken Ottawa lightly. Good teams find a way to win hockey games.
The Wild Wild 2020-21 West Division
Jim transitions the show to talk about the 2020-21 West Division. The boys break down the Blues and Coyotes game that happened on Saturday afternoon. All three agree that the Blues will be near the top of the division and the Coyotes will be battling for a place spot. Coach Jay was impressed by Antti Raanta‘s play and he will be a key to the success of the Coyotes this season.
Jim then transitions to talking about the Avalanche. They have one of the more talented teams in the division. However, the thing that scares all three of them is their goaltending. Is it elite enough to win them a Stanley Cup?
Finally, the boys discuss the Golden Knights. Jim makes a point about how the Golden Knights lost the “Misfits” identity and are more like the Evil Empire of the NHL. Everyone wants to go there, but have lost that identity that made them play as a team.
Jim then transitions the show to predictions and goaltending. Marc kicks things off the segment before the other two have their say. Then Coach Jay breaks down the goaltending plus so much more.
