St. Louis Blues Roster Injury Riddled
The Blues will be without forward Tyler Bozak, as he has been placed on the injured reserve with an upper-body injury. The injury is a result of a hit delivered by Vegas Golden Knights winger Mark Stone. His injury is currently labeled as day to day. Last season, he was a decent depth forward for St. Louis, putting up 13 goals and 16 assists for 29 points through 67 games. This gave him a pace of about 35 points in a full 82-game season. Through seven games this year, the 35-year-old has scored zero goals and two assists for two points. He has been averaging 13:16 of ice time.
Others Missing
Along with the subtraction of Bozak, Blues’ winger Zach Sanford will be out of the game as well. Sanford is reportedly out with the flu. Through 11 games this season, he has scored one goal and one assist for two points. Blues forward Sammy Blais will also be a game-time decision. The 24-year-old winger has one goal and two assists for three points through six games so far this season. Defenceman Marco Scandella will continue to be out, as he remains day-to-day. Through nine games this season, Scandella has seen trouble producing, as he is still yet to see the score sheet.
Backup Plan
With all of their absences, the St. Louis Blues roster needed a few additions. The team recalled 24-year-old defenceman Jake Walman, along with 26-year-old left-winger Mackenzie MacEachern. Both were sitting on the team’s taxi squad. If either of them is to play, it will be their first taste of game action for the 2020-21 season.
