The Flyers Ink a New Dan Vladar Contract
The Flyers endured surprising amounts of success in 2025-26. One of the key reasons for their success was stability in net. The main catalyst for this success between the pipes was none other than Daniel Vladar. Today he was rewarded with a contract.

Vladar still had a year left on his previous deal. Now, he has signed a five-year contract extension to keep him in Philly long-term. The deal carries an average annual value of $5.5 million.
Vladar had been quietyly honing his craft and building his craft for the Calgary Flames for four seasons. Philly did not have an abundance of confidence in their goaltending state. Between Samuel Ersson and Ivan Fedotov they were optimistic about their future, but as they showed to be a competitive team within the Metropolitan Division, they needed reliability. Enter Dan Vladar.
General manager Daniel Briere signed Vladar to a two-year contract back on July 1st, 2025. Then last year, Vladar proved that it was every bit the correct decision. He would end up guiding Philly to a second-round Stanley Cup Playoff berth. Now, the Carolina Hurricanes were the heavy favourites, sweeping them in four games, but Carolina handled the entire Eastern Conference pretty easily, in the end.

Prior to arriving in Philadelphia, Vladar had never played more than 30 games in an NHL season. However, he did an excellent job of coming to town and taking the bull by the horns. In 52 games for Philly in 2025-26, he posted a 29-14-7 record. His 2.42 goals-against average was far below his career mark of 2.80. Furthermore, he had a tied for career best .906 save percentage. As Philly continues to strive to be competitive in the Metro, Vladar looks to be the backbone of their success.
