Jack Drury Trade Improves Predators’ Centre Depth
Jack Drury is a bottom-six centre option for the Nashville Predators, who were looking somewhat thin down the middle coming into next season. He recorded 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points in 82 games last season for Colorado, as well as five points in 13 Stanley Cup Playoff games. Drury is a restricted free agent this summer, who was previously signed to a two-year deal worth $1.725 million per season.
In addition, the Predators are acquiring Chase Bradley, a 24-year-old forward who has played in two NHL games in his career. He recorded 12 points in 42 games with the Colorado Eagles last season. He will likely start the next season in the minors.
Colorado Acquires Two Former First-Round Draft Picks in Return
Zachary L’Heureux, a 23-year-old forward, recorded 28 points in 30 games for the Milwaukee Admirals last season, as well as five points for the Predators in 25 games. He is known for his gritty and high-intensity style of game, which the Avs could use. However, his reckless behaviours have resulted in 11 different suspensions in the AHL and a three-game suspension in the NHL when he slew-footed Jared Spurgeon of the Minnesota Wild. He was drafted 27th overall by Nashville in 2021.
Fedor Svechkov will likely slot in as Drury’s replacement, as he played as the third-line centre for Nashville last season. He recorded 17 points in 70 games for Nashville in 2025-26. He was drafted 19th overall by Nashville in 2021.
