A Statistical Analysis of Tim Stutzle’s Red Hot 2025-26

We aren’t here to sugarcoat anything, as the Ottawa Senators are in trouble in the Atlantic Division Stanley Cup Playoff race. But one player doing everything he can for the cause, offensively, is the elite German, Tim Stutzle. Let’s discuss how impressive his 2025-26 season has been, based on some key statistics.

The Ottawa Senator Tim Stutzle’s 2025-26 Stats

First to take care of some business. After a loss to Montreal on Wednesday, they remained in sixth spot in the division standings. With teams still fighting for spots out of the Metropolitan Division like Columbus Blue Jackets or the New York Islanders, every point will end up to be vital in the end.

But for the positives, and they are centred on Stutzle somewhat. Ottawa has been very hot offensively all year long, especially in certain circumstances. More specifically, Tim Stutzle continues to be on a tear. His current 14-game point streak is starting to separate him from the pack.

The Significance of Stutzle’s Scoring

By our count, only 20 other players have had two-or-more point streaks of 13-or-more games in the same season. Even though Stutzle hasn’t done it in multiple seasons, few ever have. Guy Lafleur, Bryan Trottier, Denis Savard, and Connor McDavid have managed to accomplish the task across multiple campaigns, each doing it twice. The other player to accomplish it multiple times, Wayne Gretzky. He did it in eight-different seasons.

However, the other side of this exact distinction, is that some of the seasons with the longest point streaks, didn’t see the player get to 13, twice. When Gretzky had a 51-game point streak, Mario Lemieux‘s 46, Mats Sundin‘s 30, Paul Coffey‘s 28, Steve Yzerman‘s 28, for instance, in those seasons, they never accomplished another point streak of 13 games or longer.

Also, in terms of franchise longest point streaks, Stutzle currently holds the third, fourth, and sixth spot. Dany Heatley point streak of 22 games and the one of 16, are one-two, all time for the Sens.

His 2025-26 Compared against Career Stats

Let’s compare a bunch of Stutzle’s stats with his career numbers. After all, superstardom can be about bettering yourself. Raising the proverbial bar. Proving it.

His even-strength points-per-60 minutes at 2.8, is currently tied for his career high. Of course, that happened in his career high for points season (2022-23) with 90.

Another career high he is approaching is total goals. Again, from 2022-23, he had 39. This year in 64 games so far, he has 30. Really, it only takes one timely hat trick. One final Stanley Cup Playoff push? Let’s go Sens.

What’s more on his scoring is his shooting percentage. So far it is at 19.1%, his next highest percentage came in 2022-23 at 17.1%. His career average is 14.1%. So, well above the baseline. Setting the tone.

Of course, one true predictor of future success is past successes. One indicator seems to be line chemistry. It is a way of one predicting consistency, in a sense of having an automatic supporting cast. For example, you should score at a rate based on your linemates, opposed to being a purely individual stat. The highs and lows will come and go, but you need that steadying force.

According to MoneyPuck, the Sens are very strong in line stats. For their seven lines that have played a minimum of 100 minutes together, the lowest is 55% in expected goal percentage. That value puts that lowest Sen line at 74th among 179 total lines to hit that mark league wide. And that’s their worst line. That combination includes Ridly Greig, Claude Giroux, and Michael Amadio, a great NHL third line. The best line, is the best line in hockey in fact, with Nick Cousins, Shane Pinto, and Michael Amadio (at 70.7%).

But our focus was Stutzle’s line combos.

Having numbers like that, is no wonder why the team so consistently puts in strong performances. One individual stat for Stutzle that maintains consistency is assists. Even if his season goal totals have fluctuated some, his assists have been more balanced. Three years he was between 51 and 55. Moreover, with 40 at this point, he will get very close to that mark once again.

Stutzle is also have a good season on the power play. He is only two shots away from the third most power play shots on a goal in season. Furthermore, his seven markers this year, are already tied for his second most of his career. With 23 points, he career high of 33 is in jeopardy. Any way, shape or form, Stutzle is really busting. He’s buzzing.

As the Sens make this final push for the postseason, they will rely on Stutzle’s point production, vitally. There’s no signs of slowing down. That is a great sign, and hopefully it translates into Ws.
