Shane Pinto Signs 4-Year Extension With Ottawa Senators
Shane Pinto started 2025-26 off to a roaring start with seven goals through the Sens first six games. Moreover, he was riding the wave of confidence from the past while. He had a huge World Hockey Championship showing with Team USA. There, he recorded ten points in eight games. This helped gain him an invitation to the big squad. When the Olympic team variation came around, they called his name for the summer orientation camp. Therefore, it’s no wonder to see why he got out to such a hot start once the NHL regular season finally rolled around.
Of course, what this did was ramp up the rumours surrounding the situation. We were wondering his term and amount. Furthermore, in terms of term, the question of Brady Tkachuk‘s next contract came up. Would the Sens be able to afford both of them? Fortunately, this contract today, doesn’t close any doors. With the raise of the salary cap continuing over the next few years, the Sens will have the potential to keep their current core together.
Pinto is looking to have another decent campaign. He is up to 14 points through 17 games. Furthermore, his eight goals put him among the leaders in the league. He’s already a two-time, 20-goal man, and is trending in that direction already. Now he can really focus on hockey. Despite his team’s inconsistent start, they are sitting in a playoff position. They are third in the NHL’s Atlantic Division, just two points behind the Boston Bruins. The very team they play tonight. Let’s see if Pinto can boost the Sens with his shiny new deal.
