NHL Predictions; Kings Flames postponed

Postponed: California Wildfires Force Later Date for Kings and Flames

In the wake of the devastating Southern California Wildfires, Wednesday night’s game between the Calgary Flames and Los Angeles Kings has been postponed. The game would have taken place in Los Angeles. News came from the teams midway through the day that they would schedule a new date.

The Kings, Flames and NHL all made the announcement, sending thoughts and prayers to those affected by the fires. It is currently unclear when the makeup game will be played. The Kings have confirmed that ticket holders do not need to take any action, as tickets will still be valid for the new date.

Kings Flames Postponed and the Upcoming Schedule

The Pacific Division match would have featured the third (Los Angeles) and fourth (Calgary) ranked teams in the division. The Kings hold a record of 23-10-5 while the Flames stand at 19-14-7. In their first game this year, the Flames defeated the Kings 3-1. Fans will not have to wait long to see Calgary and Los Angeles play, regardless of the makeup game. The teams will meet on Saturday night in Alberta. Los Angeles will head to Canada next, playing the Winnipeg Jets on Friday. The Flames do not have any other games scheduled until Saturday. As such, they should be able to return home and rest.

Moving Forward

This game will be the second of the season that had to be postponed. A game between the Tampa Bay Lighting and Carolina Hurricanes was rescheduled from October 12 due to Hurricane Milton. However, the makeup game took place just Wednesday on January 7th as the Lightning won, 3-2. The Kings and Flames will have to wait and see when the new game will be rescheduled, but it could take some time. Right now, the priority is safety. Everyone is hoping for the best for those this disaster affected. Fans should stay tuned as the league and teams make decisions moving forward.
