The New York Rangers have lost two consecutive games will be without a key player for Monday’s game against the St Louis Blues. News emerged on Monday that Chris Kreider is out for the game against the Blues. Kreider is said to be out with an upper-body injury.
The Rangers have recalled Matt Rempe from Hartford.

Chris Kreider Out With Injury
Kreider has only played for the Rangers over his 13-year NHL career. The Boxford, Mass. native has nine goals for nine points in 19 games this season. He’s got a Corsi for of 50.1 and a relative Corsi of 2.6.
The 33-year-old has 313 goals and 248 assists for 561 points in 834 career games. New York originally drafted him in the first round, 19th overall of the 2009 NHL Draft. Kreider was a standout at Boston College making at the Hockey East All-Rookie team in 2009-10.
He’s also represented his native United States at the international level. Kreider won a gold at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championships and a bronze at the 2011 IIHF World Juniors. He also got a bronze at the 2018 IIHF World Championships.
Kreider isn’t just in the news for his injuries. Rumours have emerged via Elliotte Friedman that Kreider and captain Jacob Trouba could be possible trade bait.
What It Means
Kreder has been a large part of the Blueshirts lineup for a number of seasons. He’s a big body that’s a massive headache in front of goal.
The Rangers are calling up Matt Rempe to provide cover in the forward ranks. Rempe may not have the offensive skill of Kreider. However, he can be physical and can try to inject some edge in the lineup.
Brett Berard is also slated to make his NHL debut against the Blues on Monday night. The 22-year-old may also provide some spark in the Blueshirts’ lineup that’s returning after a four-game road trip.
