Welcome back to the return of NHL Predictions. Each day, Last Word on Hockey takes a look at the games that are happening and gives our predictions for each one, breaking down head-to-head matchups and other factors that may play in. We also have a featured game of the day, which is considered must-watch TV. Today’s featured game is the Buffalo Sabres vs Los Angeles Kings. NHL Predictions
Nashville Predators vs Seattle Kraken
Head-to-Head: Predators 0-1 Krkane
Time: 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

Our first game of NHL predictions has the Seattle Kraken hosting the Nashville Predators. Juuse Saros is the expected starter for Nashville, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Predators are 3-5-2 in the last 10, but coming off a 5-3 victory over the Vancouver Canucks. Filip Forsberg is first on the team in goals (8) and points (15). Captain Roman Josi is tops in assists with 12.
Joey Daccord is the projected starter for Seattle, which down Nashville, 7-3, in the first meeting of the season. The Kraken have been the definition of mid this seasons with a 9-9-1 record and going 5-5 in the last 10. Jared McCann has been consistently good this season for Seattle as he leads in goals (9), assists (12) and points (21).
Nashville has been playing better, but Seattle has a little more consistency.
Prediction: Kraken win 4-3.
Buffalo Sabres vs Los Angeles Kings
Head-to-Head: Sabres 0-1 Kings
Time: 10:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: MSG Buffalo; Fan Duel Sports West; Sportsnet (CA); ESPN+
Our final and featured game of NHL predictions has the Sabres out on the West Coast against the Kings. Buffalo is slated to go with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in the blue paint for this game. The Sabres are 5-5 in the last 10 and have not been able to get into a groove this season. Tage Thompson is the team’s leader in goals (11) and points (18), but Alex Tuch is tops in assists with 12.
David Rittich is the expected starter for the Kings, who are 5-4-1 in the last 10 games. Los Angeles has leveled off after getting off to a surprisingly fast start. Adrian Kempe and Alex Laferriere are tied for the first in goals with nine. However, captain Anze Kopitar is leading the way in points with 21 so far this season.
Both teams are trying to get some momentum. However, the Kings get the home victory.
Prediction: Kings win 4-2.
Prop Bets of the Night
We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. In the opening game. go with Josi to get some sort of points. He’s a -166 for one point and +300 to get a multiple-point night on FanDuel. On the Seattle side, take Oliver Bjorkstrand at +270 to get a goal on FanDuel.
In the night cap, go with the Kings covering the +1.5 goal spread at +165. These odds can be found at Bet365.
