Amadio, Gregor Announced as Ottawa Senators Signings
It’s a return to Ottawa for Amadio, who played for the team in the 2021-22 season. He’s also played for the Los Angeles Kings, Toronto Maple Leafs and Vegas Golden Knights over his seven-year NHL career. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native totaled 14 goals and 13 assists for 27 points in 73 games this past season for Vegas. He had a Corsi for 51.7 and a relative Corsi of 3.1
Gregor has played for the San Jose Sharks and the Maple Leafs over his five-year NHL career. He had six goals and six assists for 12 points in 63 games this season. The Beaumont, Alberta native had a Corsi for of 42.5 and a relative Corsi of -9.9.
What It Means
These are a pair of low-cost depth forward signings for the Senators as they continue their rebuild. Ottawa Senators General Manager Steve Staios is trying to fix this team and get them back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in years. These may not be the biggest moves, but these signings can help the team fill out the lineup.
Amadio is familiar with the city and he was there for part of a season. The veteran has reached double-digit goals four times in his career. He could provide some depth scoring for the team.
Gregor can also fill out a spot in the lineup for the Senators. The former fourth-round pick also had 10 goals with the Sharks in the 2022-23 campaign.
