Nashville Predators Plan to Extend Goaltender

The Nashville Predators will retain one of their own. A Juuse Saros contract extension is officially complete. The Predators are closing in on an extension for the next eight years and the AAV around $7.5 million. This is great for the Predators and shows he did want to stay all along.

Predators To Ink Saros To Extension

The Nashville Predators are building on the momentum that they built during the 2023-24 season. First year head coach Andrew Brunette did wonders for the franchise. The Predators performed well and made the Stanley Cup Playoffs. A good chunk of that they can attribute to Saros and his play in the crease.

Saros finished the regular season with a 2.86 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. However, he finished the season with a -3.0 goals saved above expected. During the playoffs, Saros elevated his play and made life tough for the Vancouver Canucks.

Saros has been steady for the Predators in his career. He owns a 2.63 goals against average and a .917 save percentage. The Saros extension is promising and instills promise to the future.

What This Means

The Saros extension instills belief into the future. With the aiming to build upon the seasons success, they lock up one of their own. Extending Saros gives the team a stellar tandem for the foreseeable future. Saros and goaltender Yaroslav Askarov can tend the crease in Nashville. That is huge going forward and will give them a tremendous competitive edge.

The Predators are going to be a team that’ll compete for years to come. This is also great news after hearing his name was in the trade mill for the longest time. Saros staying shows he believes in what they are building and him wanting to be part of it. He gets his pay raise and now gets to focus on taking the Predators to the promise land.
