NHL Predictions
Vegas Golden Knights vs Boston Bruins
Head-to-Head: Golden Knights 1-0 Bruins
TV: NESN; Scripps; ESPN+; SN East, SN West, SN Pacific
Our opening and featured game has the Vegas Golden Knights taking on the Boston Bruins. Vegas stopped the Toronto Maple Leafs winning streak last time out with a 6-2. Adin Hill is the expected starter, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Golden Knights are without Mark Stone, but they were able to handle a streaking Leafs squad. Jonathan Marchessault leads the team in goals with 32 so far this season.
Jeremy Swayman is the confirmed starter for the Bruins, who have lost three straight games. Boston is tied with the Florida Panthers for first place in the Atlantic Division. David Pastrnak is leading the team in goals (38) and assists (47). The last five games have been close and decided by one goal. Boston is in the top 10 in goals for, goals against, power play and penalty kill.
Vegas got a big win, but Boston also has a lot to play for. This will be another tight one.
Prediction: Bruins win 3-2 in overtime.
New York Islanders vs Detroit Red Wings
Head-to-Head: Islanders 0-1 Red Wings
TV: Bally Sports Detroit; MSGSN; ESPN+
The New York Islanders travel to the Motor City to take on the Detroit Red Wings. New York is seven points off the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. Ilya Sorokin is the confirmed starter for the Islanders, who have lost three of the last five games. However, the Isles did beat the Dallas Stars, 3-2, in overtime. Brock Nelson is the team’s leader in goals with 25.
Alex Lyon is the locked in starter for the Red Wings, who have won six straight games. Detroit has lifted itself out of the Wild Card spots and has made played well in the last few weeks. Team captain Dylan Larkin leads the club in goals with 26 goals while Lucas Raymond is tops in assists with 34. Special teams have been great for the Red Wings this season as they’re in the top 10 in goals and assists.
The Isles will always give a tough game, but the Wings are playing well at both ends of the ice.
Prediction: Red Wings win 4-2.
Arizona Coyotes vs Toronto Maple Leafs
Head-to-Head: Coyotes 0-1 Maple Leafs
TV: SNO, Sportsnet; Scripps; ESPN+
Our final game of NHL predictions has the Arizona Coyotes looking to continue their solid play at Scotiabank Arena. The Coyotes have lost an unlucky 13 games, but have been surprisingly great on the road against the Maple Leafs. Connor Ingram is the confirmed starter for a reeling Arizona team. Clayton Keller is the team’s leader in goals (22) and assists (30).
Joseph Woll is the confirmed starter for the Maple Leafs, who had their winning streak snapped last time out by the Golden Knights. Auston Matthews leads the league in goals with 52. However, Mitch Marner and William Nylander have also turned in some great seasons as well.
The Toronto media will want blood if the team loses to Arizona. However, the Leafs should take care of business.
Prediction: Maple Leafs win 5-2.
