NHL Predictions
Winnipeg Jets vs Boston Bruins
Head-to-Head: Jets 1-0 Bruins
TV: NESN; Sportsnet; ESPN+
Our featured game of NHL predictions has the Jets looking to complete the season sweep over the Bruins. Connor Hellebuyck is the expected starter, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Winnipeg has won for of the last five and defence has been the team’s hallmark. Kyle Connor leads the team in goals and Mark Scheifele is tops in assists with 27. The Jets are the top-rated teams when it comes to least goals allowed.
Jeremy Swayman is the projected starter for the Bruins, who have also won four straight games. Boston rattled off nine goals in a rout of the rival Montreal Canadiens last time out. David Pastrnak has already gotten to 30 goals this campaign, but he also leads in assists with 36. The Bruins defence is also solid with them being fifth in goals allowed.
Winnipeg is solid on defence, but Boston’s offence is humming right now.
Prediction: Bruins win 4-2.
Vegas Golden Knights vs New Jersey Devils
Head-to-Head: Golden Knights 0-0 Devils
TV: NHL Network; Scripps; MSGSN
The Vegas Golden Knights take on the New Jersey Devils in this big matchup. Vegas has won four of its last five games and is staying steady without Jack Eichel in the lineup. Jonathan Marchessault leads the team in goals with 20 while Mark Stone is leading the way in assists. Logan Thompson is the likely starter in the blue paint for Vegas. Defence has helped the Knights stay afloat in the west with them giving up two goals or less in each of the last five games.
Vitek Vanecek is the projected starter for the Devils, who have lost three of the last five games. Injuries have troubled the Devils with Jack Hughes, Brendan Smith and Jonas Siegenthaler have been out for the club. New Jersey is 23rd in goals allowed, but ninth in goals scored. New Jersey has plenty of firepower, but need to stop pucks if it plans on making a run.
The Devils can score, but the Knights get the road win.
Prediction: Golden Knights win 4-3.
Pittsburgh Penguins vs Arizona Coyotes
Head-to-Head: Penguins 1-0 Coyotes
TV: Scripps; Sportsnet Pittsburgh; ESPN+
Our final featured game of NHL predictions has the Pittsburgh Penguins taking on the Arizona Coyotes. Both the Penguins and the Coyotes have lost three of the last five games. Tristan Jarry is the expected starter for Pittsburgh in this one. The Penguins are finishing up one of the more brutal portions of the schedule, but has to improve its offensive output if it wants to win. Sidney Crosby leads the club with 26 goals.
Connor Ingram is the likely starter in the crease for the Coyotes. Arizona’s offence has been inconsistent as well as its 24th in the league. Clayton Keller is leading the team in goals with 19 while Matias Maccelli has 23 assists. Nick Schmaltz missed the last game against the Nashville Predators game.
Pittsburgh is emerging from the gauntlet and gets a hard-fought win.
