NHL Predictions
Nashville Predators vs Dallas Stars
Head-to-Head: Predators 1-1 Stars
TV: NHL Network; Bally Sports South; Bally Sports Southwest
Our first and featured game of NHL predictions is a Central Division battle between the Predators and the Stars. Both teams have won a one-goal game each this season. Juuse Saros is the projected starter, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Nashville has won three of its last five games under new head coach Andrew Brunette. The Predators have been hard to figure out at times due to their inconsistent play. Special teams has been a problem for Nashville, which is 25th on the penalty kill and 16th on the power play.
Scott Wedgewood will get the start once again for the Stars while Jake Oettinger is out. Miro Heiskanen is also out week-to-week much like Oettinger is according to Dallas head coach Peter DeBoer. The Stars swept a home-and-home set with the Minnesota Wild and are on a two-game winning streak. Dallas did drop a 4-3 loss to Nashville in the last meeting between the two teams. The Stars are third in goals for and fourth on the penalty kill. Dallas is also 11th when they have a power play.
Saros can steal a game, but the Stars overcome the injuries to get the win. It’s very important for Dallas to hang on until Oettinger is back in the crease.
Prediction: Stars win 4-3.
Philadelphia Flyers vs Minnesota Wild
Head-to-Head: Flyers 1-0 Wild
TV: Bally Sports North X; NBC Sports Philadelphia+; Bally Sports Wisconsin; ESPN+
Our last game of NHL predictions has the Philadelphia Flyers taking on the Wild. Carter Hart is the expected starter, but Samuel Ersson has also been red-hot for the Flyers, who have won two of the last three games. Jamie Drysdale will be in his second game with the club after being traded from the Anaheim Ducks. Travis Konecny has 21 goals so far this season and Travis Sanheim leads the club in assists.
Minnesota has lost four of the last five games and momentum has grounded to a screeching halt. Marc-Andre Fleury is the prospective starter for the Wild, who are without injured goalie Filip Gustavsson. Team captain Jared Spurgeon is also on injured reserve for the Wild. Joel Eriksson Ek leads the team in goals with 15 and Mats Zuccarello has 24 assists to lead in that category.
The Wild are banged and the Flyers seem to be clicking. Just remember that team may be as fired up as John Tortorella in a press conference when asked about Kevin Hayes.
Prediction: Flyers win 5-2.
Prop Bet of the Night
Let’s go back to the first game of the evening when it comes to our prop bet of the night. Tyler Seguin has been red-hot for Dallas with six goals in the last six games. Seguin has been one of the reasons that the Stars have been able to tread water during their current bad luck with injuries. We’re not calling a goal for Seguin, but we like him getting the over on +1.0 points in this games.
