Taylor Hall Out Week-to-Week Following Injury Against Boston Bruins

Taylor Hall injury

Chicago Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson announced that Taylor Hall will be out week-to-week after sustaining an injury against the Boston Bruins last night.

Taylor Hall Out Week-to-Week

After a victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Chicago Blackhawks suited up the next night in Boston. This was Taylor Hall’s second game in a Blackhawks sweater after the Bruins traded him there in the offseason. Unfortunately for Hall, he took a big high hit from Brandon Carlo in the second period which appeared to be close to the head. Hall tried to play some after that hit but Chicago ultimately ruled him out before the start of the third period.

After more of a down year last season amassing 16 goals and 20 assists with Boston, the former MVP was coming to Chicago to play alongside and mentor their shiny new toy in Connor Bedard. But as much as Hall was expected to mentor Bedard, the Blackhawks and Hall were hoping to get him back on track closer to his days with the New Jersey Devils. His first point with Chicago was an assist on Bedard’s first NHL goal. This injury is unfortunate for both Hall and the Blackhawks.

The Chicago Blackhawks Moving Forward

A team never wants a player injury. But for someone Chicago counted on to be a top-line player to suffer an injury in the second game is a tough blow. While the severity of Hall’s injury is still unknown, the Blackhawks will have to move forward with what they have. Of course, the hope is that Hall will be back sooner than later. You never like to see any injury that could potentially affect the head so if there are any concussion-like results, you’d expect the Blackhawks to be cautious with Hall’s return. But as the Blackhawks continue their rebuild, this may just give an opportunity for a younger player to step up and gain valuable experience.
