Tarasenko Lands New Contract
Tarasenko may not be the same player he was a few years ago, but he is still a productive player. A proven scorer and point getter is why Vladimir Tarasenko is worth the contract. Not to mention the winning pedigree and veteran experience that he brings. Much like Ondrej Palat to the New Jersey Devils, Tarasenko provides the same veteran presence and value.
What This Means For Tarasenko
After being in the rumour mill for multiple seasons with the St Louis Blues, Tarasenko will be in Ottawa for now. Wondering where he would play next, Tarasenko has his new contract in place. With that being said, he can buckle down and play hockey. Even though he said he wanted to remain in New York, that didn’t work out. However, being able to sign in another place that he wanted to be is the next best thing for him and his family.
What This Means For The Team
The Senators are getting quality talent as well as a proven player. This Vladimir Tarasenko contract is the perfect deal for the team and the player. Given their respective window for contending, adding depth is perfect for this team. You can never have too much depth, especially when you are trying to contend.
Tarasenko did bounce back well over the past two seasons after shoulder problems. In fact, Tarasenko is a six-time 30-goal scorer while hitting the 40-goal mark once. This is a high addition to provide depth scoring.
