Dellandrea Has New Contract With Dallas
Ty Dellandrea has earned himself a new contract. After his first full heavy workload, he impressed Jim Nill in the best way. In addition, he was one of the more impactful injections of youth in this lineup. Dellandrea played 26 games with the club in the 2020-21 season, but this season saw him play all 82 games. He scored nine goals, 19 assists, and 28 points.
Primarily Dellandrea spent majority of the year alongside Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnston. Together the trio had a 52.8% expected goals percentage and generated 15.1 expected goals. That was second-best behind the dynamite top line. What made the line special was that they had 26 goals as a line. Furthermore, this was the second-best goal total of any line on the team. Dellandrea is a special talent and goes to the high-danger areas and plays hard.
What This Contract Means For The Stars
This Ty Dellandrea contract is great for the Stars. Despite this team with veterans leading the way, the young guys are taking charge. Johnston had a great rookie season and so did Dellandrea. Jim Nill is building something special in Dallas and has the new core shaping up.
The club is led by Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, Miro Heiskanen, and Jake Oettinger. In addition, it now complimented with Dellandrea. Not to mention the veterans of Joe Pavelski, Benn, and Tyler Seguin are intact. The Stars trip to the Western Conference finals in just the beginning to brighter days in Texas.
