Bright days are ahead for the New York Rangers. For a team littered with veteran talent, one young guy has made his mark on the team. That player is K’Andre Miller. Ever since breaking out with the club, you always saw the potential he has. This season, he broke out of his shell and had a career season. Miller is a smooth skater who can carry the puck and transition offensively. In addition, his production followed through. Miller scored nine goals, 34 assists, and 43 points. His point totals ranked him second among all defensemen on the team. Miller was able to also play a physical game and sacrifice his body to block shots. Overall, the K’Andre Miller contract is great for both sides.
Why This Makes Sense For The Rangers
The K’Andre Miller contract makes sense for the team. It is a good deal and for a building block of a player. Miller is a top-four defenceman capable of playing big minutes for the club. His offensive ability from the back end is a huge bonus. The time to get young and let the youth impact the roster is now. And a top-four defence consisting of Adam Fox, Miller, Ryan Lindgren, and Jacob Trouba puts the club in good shape.
Why This Makes Sense For Miller
The contract is a sigh of relief for K’Andre Miller. Being a pending restricted free agent is not the most fun thing in the world. But now that the deal is finished, he can focus on hockey. A sour taste remains in his mouth with the team receiving a disappointing exit in the first round. Miller is coming off a career year and will be looking to build upon that.
