Max Domi Signs Contract With Toronto

Max Domi has a new contract in place. After spending time last year split between two teams, he has a permanent spot. Domi is signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs and is locked up for the next year. In addition, his AAV will be $3 million per season. An excellent way for Domi to cash in after a strong season.

Domi Signs Contract

Max Domi has earned himself a new contract. The former 12th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft had one of his best years since his career year in 2018-19. That year saw him score a career-high 28 goals and 72 points. His production has taken a drop since then.

However, things took a turn. This year he started the season with the Chicago Blackhawks. Despite the club being poor, Domi was a bright spot. In 60 games, Domi scored 18 goals, 31 points, and 49 points. Furthermore, he was moved to the Dallas Stars at the trade deadline. Domi managed seven points in 20 games. In addition, he was an animal in the playoffs, with 13 points in 19 games.

What This Contract Means

This Max Domi contract is an excellent addition to the club. Domi is an aggressive player like his father and has the production to go along with it. Things are taking a turn for the centre, and the team cashed in on adding the player. Not to mention, Toronto also added Tyler Bertuzzi to further bolster the team.

Domi can play both centre and wing, making him a versatile player. He was sensational in the faceoff dot this year (53.7 winning percentage). Depth is so important, and being able to mix things up goes a long way. His playoff performance showed much promise compared to seasons prior. Being able to land a player that can play top-six minutes is enormous. This is an excellent day for both sides and should be a great deal opening the year.
