The rumour mill is the hottest thing right now. As things begin to heat up more and more, the trade deadline is just two days away. Big splashes have happened and more are to come. Columbus Could Look To Make Jonathan Quick Trade
Rumour: Pierre Lebrun discusses the Blue Jackets looking to trade Jonathan Quick
Blue Jackets will try to quickly explore the market before Friday's deadline to see if there's interest on a playoff team for pending UFA Jonathan Quick. Which has has been communicated to the veteran goalie, and well, no doubt would be a desirable outcome for him.

Not even 24 hours ago, the Los Angeles Kings parted ways with longtime netminder Jonathan Quick. In hindsight, it makes a ton of sense and they needed reinforcements in net, which they received via trade. Quick will go down as a legend for the Kings, but his time has come to an end. After the Blue Jackets acquired him, they could look to move the goaltender to a playoff-contending team. It is a lost season in Columbus and a contending team would be desirable for the veteran netminder.
Who Could Trade For Quick
Despite a down season, a Jonathan Quick trade makes sense for a playoff-contending team. Even though his numbers have gone down as he has the third-worst goals saved above expected (-19), he has the ability to be a reliable backup. Quick is no stranger to the postseason and played well for the Kings last season. Any team looking to shore up the crease could come calling for his services.
How A Trade Benefits Columbus
As mentioned above, it is a lost season for the Blue Jackets. Even though they acquired Quick in the Gavrikov trade, they could flip him for more assets. With a stocked 2023 draft, the team could look to recoup any assets for the veteran netminder. Quick is in the final year of his contract and is set to become a free agent.
