There is no shortage of suitors for San Jose Sharks Timo Meier. Contenders in the east have been known, but the West has come calling. With Vladimir Tarasenko, Bo Horvat, and Ryan O’Reilly off the board the attention shifts to him. The top suitors are well known with the New Jersey Devils and Carolina Hurricanes. But a few team’s out west have emerged for his services. All of these teams are contenders or very close to being and he is a player they view that can take them to the top.
Timo Meier Trade Price Tag
The ask for San Jose Sharks Timo Meier appears to be a first-round pick and a pair of prospects. New reports have emerged that Mike Grier has looked at Devils forward Dawson Mercer. The price tag is hefty for Meier and hopefully comes with an extension. However, there is a catch. As mentioned by Johnston, San Jose would raise the price if he was to remain in the West and would be lower for New Jersey and Carolina. The team’s interested out West are the St Louis Blues, Winnipeg Jets, and Vegas Golden Knights.
It sounds very familiar to the Mike Hoffman situation years back. Taking the best deal and overall package is always the smart play. It will be something to monitor down the stretch in regards to Meier and where he swims to.
