NHL Predictions: Nashville Predators vs San Jose Sharks

Nashville Predators vs San Jose Sharks

Head-to-Head: Predators 1 – 0 Sharks

Game one for the NHL regular season has taken place, and thus the 2022-2023 NHL season has officially begun. It went exactly as expected.

As mentioned in the previous article, Nashville looks good this season, and everything seems to be clicking. The score was also close, as an empty net goal from Matt Duchene put the score only one above the actual 3-1 prediction that was made. Although San Jose is in a complete rebuild, the main pieces like Timo Meier and Logan Couture seem to be playing well, and they are keeping the Sharks in the majority of their games, although the majority of them never end in the Sharks’ favour.

That being said, there still isn’t a lot of confidence that San Jose will actually do something in this game.  The Sharks only lasted about one and a half periods before the floodgates opened, so there is a growing chance that Nashville will get an early lead and put the Sharks down 0-2 to start the season.

If this were a closer game skill-wise, there is a chance San Jose could squeak out a win. But Nashville has too much of an advantage for San Jose to put up a good fight. There is a small chance it may happen and they showed it yesterday, but it’s doubtful.

Prediction: Nashville wins 2-0
