The Dallas Stars re-signed free agent forward Jason Robertson, to a 4-year contract worth $ 31million, or $7.75 million per season. This contract carries him through the 2025-2026 season. Jason Robertson re-signs after a full offseason of questions.

Jason Robertson Re-Signs with the Dallas Stars

Over his two-year NHL career, Robertson has only played for the Dallas Stars. He has put up 58 goals and 67 assists for 125 career points in 128 career games. He was originally drafted in the second round, 39th overall of the 2017 NHL draft by the Stars. Robertson is coming off a massive sophomore year. This season he scored 41 goals and recorded 79 points in 74 games played. He was a part of one of the NHL’s hottest top lines for this season. Additionally, he scored back-to-back hat tricks this season. Robertson was also the runner-up for the Calder Memorial Trophy in the 2020-21 season.

What He Brings to the Table

The 22-year-old is just getting started but has already made his mark on just how productive he can be. His numbers aren’t the only impressive thing about him. He has shown that his hockey IQ is beyond his years. He is one of those guys who always finds the puck and makes something out of nothing. Roberston is also someone who can score timely goals, recording 11 game-winning goals this past season. He is known for his hard work and for leaving everything on the ice day in and day out.

Not only is he offensively dominant, but he is also defensively sound. The six-foot-three-inch forward can also play a physical game, laying 50 hits last season. Another one of his strengths is his puck carrying. He is able to carry the puck into the offensive zone to help create some chances. He is developed into a well-rounded player in his short time in the NHL. And he has shown promise to grow into one of the best forwards in the league. Jason Robertson re-signs so he can continue playing his best hockey.
