What It Means
The Penguins have been bit hard by the injury bug this season. Players like Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have missed significant time this year with various ailments. Crosby has made his way back into the lineup even after being tripped up by COVID.
Pittsburgh has still found a way to be in the post-season mix despite all of the problems its had. Guentzel played a big part of that and was producing over a point a game so far. The injury also comes in the midst of a recent hot-streak which included a hat trick against the Vancouver Canucks.
Coach Sullivan will also have to make some adjustments on the power play, as Guentzel was playing a large role on the extra-man unit.
