The Last Word on Hockey Show: Jack Eichel Trade and More NHL Talk
Jack Eichel
Jim welcomes everyone to the show here on another Saturday night. The show opens with the boys discussing the Jack Eichel trade to Vegas. It was a long time coming for the trade to happen. As Marc says the Golden Knights had issues scoring goals in the playoffs and Eichel should help with this problem. Jim talks about what they gave up for Eichel and how Jack will have surgery next week. As Jim notes, we could see another Lightning situation with the cap if Eichel is not ready to go after the surgery. Jay likes the trade for Vegas and he will thrive in their system. It’s all or nothing at all for the Golden Knights this season.

New York Rangers
The show then switches to talking about Adam Fox and his new deal. Jim says this kid is a star defenceman and the boys agree he is worth every penny. Marc mentions Fox could be the next captain of the Rangers. The boys discuss his defensive partner. Then they go into the play of the Rangers of late and their current road trip. There is a debate about who should have started against Edmonton Alexandar Georgiev or Igor Shesterkin. Of course, the boys talk about the Connor McDavid goal. Just amazing.
Chicago Blackhawks
Jim then switches the show to the Blackhawks as they let go of their head coach Jeremy Colliton. As Marc notes, this team got older better never did the rebuild the right way. Jim says this is not on Colliton and he did a great job last season. There are outside factors with everything. Then Jim raises the question about Marc-Andre Fleury and does he really wants to be there right now and did he make the wrong decision. Because clearly, he is not there mentally.
The boys then go around the league talking about some of the juicer matchups on the Saturday schedule. In addition, the boys talk Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Anaheim Ducks, and Coach Jay’s goalie stats.
Enjoy!
