Toronto Maple Leafs vs Montreal Canadiens

Jim welcomes everyone back to the show as he gives the rundown for the show. The boys jump right in and discuss the Maple Leafs and Canadiens series. Marc is still on the Canadiens bandwagon and believes they can come back from a 3-1 series deficit. All three agree that the Leafs lose Game 6 (which they did), doubts will creep into their heads about closing out a series. It has been tough for the Maple Leafs during closing time. Coach Jay says there is no goalie controversy. Jack Campbell has played well, but as Jim points out Toronto needs more from Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner. Marc notes this is a different series if the kids for the Canadiens had started in Game 1.

New York Islanders vs Boston Bruins

The boys then transition to talking about the second-round series between the Islanders and Bruins. Coach Jay notes the Bruins have the edge in between the pipes with Tuukka Rask. However, he notes that Ilya Sorokin has shown he can be the guy for the Islanders going forward. Jim and Marc talk about the matchups and who will be able to stop the “Perfection Line.” Boston’s depth might be too much for the Islanders to overcome as Taylor Hall has really fit in nicely for Boston. Jim says that if the Islanders are going to win Mathew Barzal needs to step up his game.

Vegas Golden Knights

Jim transitions the show to talk about Game 7 between the Vegas Golden Knights and Minnesota Wild. Jim and Marc give a shoutout to their buddy Tony Nardini, who flew out to Vegas for Game 7 to watch his Golden Knights win. It was a spur-of-the-moment trip for him. He is a big fan of Marc-Andre Fleury, who Jay said played a great series. So did Cam Talbot, but Vegas was just too much for them especially with the return of Max Pacioretty.

The boys also touch on the Winnipeg Jets advancing to the second round, Tampa Bay Lightning-Carolina Hurricanes series, and Colorado Avalanche. Plus a special Memorial Day shoutout.

Enjoy!
