The Last Word on Hockey: Tampa Bay Lightning, Colorado Avalanche and Toronto Maple Leafs

The Last Word on Hockey Show

Nick Foligno Trade

Jim welcomes everyone to the show and they begin talking about the pre-deadline moves that occurred on Saturday. He mentions the Toronto Maple Leafs and the trade that brought Nick Foligno to the team. The boys discuss the move and all agree this is a good move for them as they add another depth forward. In addition, Jim talks about Frederik Andersen going on LTIR and how they are in the market for a goalie. They also touch on the Riley Nash trade as well.

Tampa Bay Lightning

Jim transitions the show over to the defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning. The boys break down the weird trade that saw David Savard traded to the Lightning from the Columbus Blue Jackets via the Detroit Red Wings. They all agree the champs are going for it again this season. Tampa Bay is the best team in the division and only getting better especially with the return of Nikita Kucherov.

Colorado Avalanche

The show then looks at the trade that saw Devan Dubnyk traded to the Colorado Avalanche. Coach Jay likes the move for the Avalanche. They have a quality backup for Philipp Grubauer. The boys mention the Avalanche do not want to go through what they went through last season having to rely on their third-string goalie to win an important playoff game. They all agree just like the Lightning are in it to win it this year.

In addition to the topics above the boys discuss other topics include the New York Islanders trade for Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac, Taylor Hall, and so much more!!
