Anaheim Ducks COVID List Grows – Four New Players Added
While the entire Ducks roster has been struggling, these four players do not add much to an already weak team. Heinen leads the four of them with seven points in 23 games and an equal amount of blocks and hits with 17. Hutton is next, with three points in 27 games, and a -13 plus/minus. Larsson is tied with Hutton in points, but over 33 games. He’s also sitting at a -17 plus/minus. Heinen is the only player out of the three with a positive relative Corsi at 2.2. The other two are both under a -7.5 relative Corsi. Stolarz is their third string goaltender. He’s only played 40 minutes of one game, allowing two goals on 14 shots.
Moving Forward
The Ducks are scheduled to face the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday. It seems this game will likely be played, provided no positive tests from either camp. Just because these four are on the Anaheim Ducks COVID list does not mean they tested positive. They could have been in contact with someone, and are put there out of precaution. The Ducks currently sit in last place in the West Division, while the Wild are climbing up the rankings.
Moving forward, the Ducks are likely going to be a lottery team, so losing a few more games only helps them. While they may be able to sneak out a win against another weak team, they will certainly not be making the playoffs. Losing these four players due to precautions will not drastically impact their team’s performance. With less than a point per game combined, these four players cannot shift the tide of a game by themselves.
