The Last Word on Hockey
NWHL Bubble Fiasco
Jim opens the show talking about the news of the NWHL suspending their season after an outbreak in the bubble. Justin gives a timeline to the listeners about how the league got to the point of suspending its season. Armand chimes in about the positive cases on different teams. All agreed the players deserved better especially with the Isobel Cup Playoffs being on national television. In addition, the situation should have been handled better. It is an interesting situation considering this was going to be a closed environment.
Positives From The Bubble
The boys then talk about the positives from the bubble including how well the Toronto Six was doing during their first season. Not to mention how well the Connecticut Whale had turned things around. But it is a tough situation for these teams. However, there were positives to take from what happened in the bubble.
PWHPA Partnership
Jim continues the positive energy with the news of the PWHPA partnership with the New York Rangers. There will be two games played in February on the 27th and 28th at the World’s most famous arena Madison Square Garden. This is a step in the right direction for the PWHPA trying to get a league established. Playing games inside NHL arena’s during their Secret Dream Gap Tour will go along way to doing that.
Jim takes the boys around the world of women’s college hockey looking at the UVM women’s hockey team plus so much more.
