Tomas Nosek Re-Signs with Vegas

Last season saw Tomas Nosek play 67 games for the Vegas Golden Knights. The bottom-six centreman had his second-best season, scoring eight goals and seven assists for 15 points on the year. Nosek played just over 11:30 minutes a game which has limited the Pardubice, Czechoslovakia born forward. This season saw him win just over half of his face-offs, winning 217 draws of 433 taken this season. In 219 career NHL games, Nosek has scored 24 goals and assists for 48 points over his career.

Nosek spent three seasons playing in the Czech league for Pardubice HC. At the start of the 2014-15 season, he had travelled over to North America to play for the Detroit Red Wings AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins. He played two short stints in the NHL for them, a six-game stretch the 2015-16 season, and an 11-game stint. The latter of the two periods saw him score his first NHL goal.

What This Means for the Future

Nosek is a great depth player for any team. He was selected in Vegas’ Expansion draft from Detroit and put up his first double-digit point season in 67 games played for the Knights during their inaugural season. He isn’t the most dynamic forward, but he brings a good defensive game to the Golden Knights forward group, and a reliable player down the middle for the bottom half of their lineup.

Nosek also adds a great penalty kill presence for Vegas . In his three seasons with Vegas, he was used as one of their best penalty killers. In that time, he also proved to be one of their most consistent penalty killer. Surely that aspect of his game will be used greatly for Vegas to bolster their special teams.
