Ottawa Senators 2019-20 Comic Captions

Ottawa Senators comic captions

Have you ever looked at a sports photo and thought of a funny caption? We have, and here’s a collection of some. If you enjoy this one, leave us a comment afterward. We will do a series called NHL Comic Captions by team collecting some photos with humorous captions to entertain you during this suspension in play… and perhaps cheer you up a bit. Today we cover the Ottawa Senators comic captions for the 2019-20 season.

Brady Tkachuk

Brady Tkachuk had almost a duplicate season compared to his first in the NHL in 2018-19. This season he collected 21 goals and 23 assists for 44 points in 71 games. Last season he had 22 goals, 23 assists for 45 points. Consistency is a good virtue to possess and Brady Tkachuk is showing he has plenty of skills to be in the NHL. The 6′-3″, 196 pound forward was the fourth overall selection by the Senators in the 2018 NHL Draft.

Like his brother Matthew Tkachuk, he plays hard and shows the physical aspect of his game (303 hits) when he steps out on the ice. He was assessed with 106 penalty minutes and he knows how to take care of himself. Due his maturity at 20-years-old, his ice time was increased by almost three minutes per game from last season. He has been awarded an assistant captain role at his young age which indicates the coaching staff trusts his judgement and appreciates the responsibility he’s shown.

Brady will only get better, so watch this young man develop into a player who gets noticed. With a brother like Matthew, he’s got no choice.

Connor Brown

Connor Brown came over to the Senators in July of last year when he was traded by the Toronto Maple Leafs. While he wasn’t horrible in Toronto with 43 goals and 56 assists in 253 games, his game has elevated since he arrived in Ottawa. He almost doubled his points-per-game average when he went from 0.35 last season to 0.61 this season.

He’s found his role in Ottawa on the team’s second line and has shown good results. With his success he’s getting more ice time averaging just over 20 minutes a game. When the coaching staff recognizes that a player is improving, he gets ice time to prove it. Brown may not be on a team with star talent like the Maple Leafs anymore, but he’s showing he belongs in Ottawa. He will be a restricted free agent after this season. He signed a three-year $6.3 million deal in August of 2017 with Toronto.

He’s a good young player with a promising future.

Anthony Duclair

Anthony Duclair has been around the NHL for six years now and has been on five different teams. He, like Brown may have found the perfect setting for him to excel in his career. This season he registered 23 goals and 17 assists for 40 points n 66 games. His two seasons in Ottawa has shown his scoring ability. He’s had 31 goals and 23 assists for 54 points in 87 games.

He signed a one-year deal last August good for $1.65 million and deserves a new elevated contract. The Sens will have about $37 million in cap space, if the cap limit doesn’t change. They also have a collection of players needing new contracts with seven restricted free agents and eight unrestricted free agents having expiring deals.

Duclair always had potential with his speed and good shot, now he’s found a home to use both.
