Brent Seabrook Helps Blackhawks Complete Rally

2013: The Chicago Blackhawks defeneman scored 3:35 into overtime as they won Game 7, 2-1. Seabrook’s goal helps Chicago rally from three games to one down over the Detroit Red Wings. It’s the first time the franchise rallied from that deficit and the 25th time in league history. Chicago wins the Western Conference Semifinal, four games to three.

Seabrook is the fourth defender to score a Game 7 OT-winner in post-season history. He beats Jimmy Howard to end the series and Corey Crawford makes 26 saves in net for Chicago.

Other Notable Events

1991: The Hartford Whalers fire head coach Rick Ley. Hartford replaces him with Jim Roberts.

1992: Pat Burns resigns as head coach of the Montreal Canadiens to take the same spot with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Toronto boss Tom Watt is reassigned by the Leafs.

1993: Wayne Gretzky‘s hat trick helps the Los Angeles Kings book their first Stanley Cup Final. Gretzky powers the Kings to a 5-4 Game 7 win over Toronto in the Campbell Conference Final.

1996: Joe Sakic scores twice as the Colorado Avalanche beat Detroit, 4-1, in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final. Patrick Roy ties Billy Smith for playoff appearances by a goal with 123.

2001: Roy becomes the first goalie to start 100 straight playoff games for one team. He makes 18 saves, but the Avs fall to the New Jersey Devils, 2-1, in Game 2 of the Final.

2014: The New York Rangers clinch their first Stanley Cup Final spot since 1994. Dominic Moore scores in the second period and Henrik Lundqvist stops 18 shots in a 1-0 Game 6 win over Montreal.

2015: Ben Bishop makes 22 saves as the Tampa Bay Lightning blank the Rangers, 2-0, in Game 7 of the Eastern Final. Alex Killorn breaks a scoreless tie in the third period for Tampa.

2017: Jake Guentzel scores with 3:17 left in regulation as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Nashville Predators in Game 1 of the Final. Pittsburgh scores five times on 12 shots on goal and goes without a shot in the second period in the 5-3 win.
