Joffrey Lupul Scores Four in Ducks Victory

2006: The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim forward scores four goals, including the overtime-winner in a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche. Lupul nets the winner 16:30 into OT to win Game 3 of the Western Semifinals. He’s the first to cap a four-goal night in the playoffs with an extra-session winner.

The loss snapped the Avalanche’s six-game overtime playoff winning-streak. Anaheim would go on to sweep Colorado in four straight. The Ducks post-season run ends in the conference finals against the Edmonton Oilers.

1974: Bobby Clarke scores 12:01 into overtime as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Boston Bruins, 3-2. The win helps the Flyers snap a 19-game winless-streak at Boston Garden. Philadelphia ties the Stanley Cup Final at one game apiece.

1978: Ken Dryden‘s 23 saves lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 2-0 Game 4 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. It’s his 10th and final post-season shutout of his career.

1981: The Minnesota North Stars reach their first Stanley Cup Final. Brad Palmer scores twice in a 5-3 Game 6 win over the Calgary Flames.

1985: Denis Savard has a goal and two assists in the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 Game 3 win over Edmonton. Chicago’s victory snaps Edmonton’s record streak of 12 post-season wins in a row.

1999: Scotty Bowman is the first coach to win 200 post-season games. The Detroit Red Wings beat Colorado, 2-0, in Game 2 of the Western semifinals.

2011: Vancouver Canucks duo Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin play their 78th post-season game together. It’s the most playoff games by a pair of brothers as the beat the Nashville Predators, 2-1.

2016: Viktor Arvidsson scores 2:03 into overtime as the Predators win 4-3 in Game 6 of the Western semifinals. His first goal helps Nashville force Game 7 against the San Jose Sharks.

2017: Erik Karlsson gets a goal and an assist as the Ottawa Senators advance to the Eastern Conference Final. Ottawa beats the New York Rangers 4-2 in Game 6 as the Sens reach the last four for the first time since 2007.

2019: Boston scores two goals 28 seconds apart in its Game 1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. Patrice Bergeron and Marcus Johansson net goals in a 5-2 victory.
