The Tustin, California native spent this past season playing for the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League. In 46 games played, Wolf posted a record of 34-10-2 to go along with a 1.88 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage. He also represented his country at the 2020 World Juniors where in only one game played, he posted a goals-against-average of 3.00 to go along with a .850 save percentage.

A seventh-round pick of the Flames in the 2019 NHL draft, Wolf has a bright future ahead of him. Although he is only 6’0″, he plays a well-rounded game. Wolf plays his angles really well and is rarely caught out of position. He has good rebound control and can track the puck through traffic. When he has the chance to play the puck, Wolf has confidence in his abilities and is able to make quick plays under pressure.

What This Means for the Future

With Wolf signed, the Flames get a really solid goaltending prospect into their system. With the uncertainty of who will be Flames long term goalie in the system, Wolf has a real opportunity to seize the moment. Presently, the goalie tandem of David Rittich and Cam Talbot is strong but many people predict Talbot will leave for greener pastures come free agency.

With a few more seasons of development, Wolf could become a star in net for the Flames. Having led the WHL in shutouts, goals-against average, and save percentage, he has the ability to dominate. Flames fans should be excited about the future as they could challenge for the Stanley Cup sooner than later.
