It appears the Columbus Blue Jackets will be without Josh Anderson for the remainder of the season. Darren Dreger tweeted that it sounds like Anderson who has been out since December 14th with a shoulder injury could need to get his shoulder surgically repaired.

Anderson Reportedly Out for the Remainder of the Season
Anderson has only appeared in 26 games for the Blue Jackets this season. In those games, he’s only managed to register one goal and three assists for four points.
Over his career with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Anderson has scored 65 goals and 50 assists for 115 points in 267 games.
Anderson was originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the fourth round, 95th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
A Not so Happy Ending for Josh Anderson
It’s a terrible ending to what has been a terrible year for Josh Anderson. Although he has only played in 26 games, the power forwards point totals were disheartening. It was a far cry from his previous year where he managed to hit career highs in goals (27) and points (47).
This lacklustre play had Anderson hearing his name in recent trade rumours. Now, with Anderson’s contract coming to an end, he does not get the opportunity to secure a nice payday for his future. He could very well be a name to look at this offseason that could be moved from the Blue Jackets.
The news of Anderson being done for the year is not what the Blue Jackets had been hoping for. However, not something they are surprised about either. The Blue Jackets have dealt with injuries all season long. So it’s a fitting story. The depth has been tested all year long and they have managed to survive thus far. While Anderson would have been a welcomed addition for the Blue Jackets heading into the postseason, it looks as though they’ll have to try to make a run without him.
