The Boston Bruins will try to rest some of their most important players ahead of the first-round series versus the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Bruins will take on the Minnesota Wild later tonight. Their Head Coach Bruce Cassidy has decided to sit Brad Marchand, Zdeno Chara, David Krejci, Chris Wagner, and Charlie McAvoy. All of these players will be resting as healthy scratches tonight except Wagner, who is out with a lower-body injury.

Boston Bruins To Rest Brad Marchand Among Other Players
The Bruins have still something to play for, but they have decided to give their top guys a bit of rest. Brad Marchand has collected his point number 100 on the season on Tuesday. David Krejci has not missed a game so far during the present campaign. Krejci has earned 52 assists, which is his new career-high in that area and is just two points shy of his career-high in points.
Chara has been connected with resting ever since the end of February, he will take his place in the press box for at least one game. His regular partner has been McAvoy on the first defensive pair. McAvoy has been playing some decent hockey recently, but he had to miss a total of 27 games mainly because of the concussion. He will welcome some rest for sure. Wagner had to miss the Bruins game on Sunday versus the Detroit Red Wings. The lower-body injury will keep him out of the lineup for tonight´s clash with the Wild as well.
What Does This Mean For The Future
Danton Heinen, who missed last Bruins game on Tuesday because of an illness, will be back in the lineup today. Talented winger and former first-round draft pick Zach Senyshyn will make his NHL debut versus the Wild. The Bruins have also recalled center Trent Frederic. The 21-year-old forward will play in his 14th game in the NHL during the present campaign.
In terms of the Bruins defence, defencemen Steven Kampfer and Connor Clifton will make their return to the lineup. Goaltender Jaroslav Halak starts in net. The Bruins will have their regular season finale against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday matinee at TD Garden. It´s very probable that Boston will rest some of their other important players like Patrice Bergeron. The Bruins need one more point in order to officially clinch the second spot in the Eastern Conference.
