In case you forgot, the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LII in February. The city of Philadelphia hasn’t forgotten, but it has looked forward to some extent. While the Birds reported to camp this week, the Phillies made a move that will hopefully lead to some postseason success of their own. And, across the street at the Wells Fargo Center, Flyers management is hoping that the offseason addition of James van Riemsdyk will lead to postseason hockey deep into next June. And maybe even a Flyers championship.

This week’s episode of You Would Think asks that question: which of those two teams will achieve championship success next? Both the Phillies and Flyers are young teams, built around homegrown cores, and both added key free agents before this season.

The Phillies’ acquisitions seem to have fallen a little flat of expectations, with neither Carlos Santana nor Jake Arrieta really living up to their previous glory.

The Flyers are hoping to avoid that same setback in van Riemsdyk. The former Flyer (and Toronto Maple Leaf) is back to the team that drafted him. The contract (five years, seven million dollars per) will quickly demand production from an impatient Flyers fan base.
