So far this season, Duclair scored 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points. He also added 16 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 53.9 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of 2.0.
Over his four-year NHL career, Duclair has played for the New York Rangers, Arizona Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks. He has put up 37 goals and 52 assists for 89 career points in 213 career games. He was originally drafted in the 3rd round, 80th overall of the 2013 NHL draft by the New York Rangers.
So far this season, Marchand has scored 29 goals and 40 assists for 69 points. He also added 53 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 56.9 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of 4.7.
Over his nine-year NHL career, Marchand has played for just the Boston Bruins. He has put up 221 goals and 222 assists for 443 career points in 587 career games. He was originally drafted in the 3rd round, 71st overall of the 2006 NHL draft by the Boston Bruins.
What This Means for the Future
It’s never good for a team like Boston to lose a scorer like Marchand. The Bruins are still chasing the Tampa Bay Lightning for the Atlantic Division title.
Duclair’s loss is another a series of bad injury breaks for Chicago. The team has lost many games due to injury in a team that would love to get the last month of the season over with in a hurry.
Marchand will likely not face supplemental discipline and that does have some upset. The hit didn’t seem malicious, but his reputation does proceed him.
